On the evening of Sept. 11, 2009, Business School held the opening ceremony for freshmen of Grade 2009 in the Lecture Hall. Dean of Business School Prof. XU Zongling and all faculties and guests attended the ceremony. All undergraduate and postgraduate freshmen participated in this event. The event was hosted by the General Party Secretary, Mr. CHEN Motian.
First, Dean of Business School Prof. XU Zongling gave a warm welcome to freshmen of Grade 2009 and new professors. Dean XU introduced the general info on Business School to all freshmen and took a focus on the education mission of Business School, Enterprising Achievement and Global Mindset. Afterwards, she introduced all faculty and staff members to attendees.
Then, Prof. XU Er’ming advocated all freshmen to be a university student with consciousness, responsibilities and wisdom on the social development, related with the pollution issues in Chaoyang. Prof. YAO Hongxin encouraged freshmen to absorb more knowledge and wisdom during the schooling days in university.
Student representatives also shared their experiences and visions towards life and study with all freshmen. Setting up goals and further knowing myself is the main theme of speeches.
Finally, Prof. LV Yuan from The Chinese University of Hong Kong gave a speech with the theme of Enterprising Achievement and Global Mindset. Prof. LV explained the characters of study in Business School based on the teaching and learning in the business subject. He mentioned that only students with professional specialty, mature personal character, healthy body and leadership can be good students. In the end, the opening ceremony was finished in the warm applause.
