The 1st (2011) Academic Seminar of the Business School was held on 29th March. Dr Zheng Muqiang of Xiamen University was invited to give a lecture on FDI,Technology Spillover Effects and Innovation of Local Enterprises. Professor Yao Hongxin of STU Business School chaired the seminar.
Taking the perspective of enterprises ranging across 9 industries and covering 177 firms in Fujian and Guangdong, Dr Zheng based his analysis of FDI technology spillover effects (TSE) on 3 facets, including the comparison of TSE in traditional and technological industries, the effects associated with intra-industrial competition, and flow of employees. The innovative perspective of Dr Zheng's lecture offered many practical opinions and arguments, which had made the seminar a splendid one.
