In the afternoon of 22nd December, the Business School held the 2010 Forum for Enhancing Employability in the E Building. Organized by the School’s General Party Branch (GPB in the following), Youth League Committee and the Student Union, the first conference of the series was chaired by Mr Chen Yinglin and participated by 73 students.
Mr Li Yue, the GPB General Secretary, spoke in the conference to talk about the three variables in assessing the competitiveness of a university, whcih include employment rate, starting salaries of graduates, and the influence of alumni.
Mr Chen Yinglin, the GPB Vice Secretary, expressed his opinions over how one’s competitiveness could be enhanced. He hoped that the youngsters can utilize the advantages provided by Shantou University, such as the opportunities of having enlightening academics, including Dean Xu Zongling, Deputy Dean Ouyang Feng and Professor Huang Yan, as lecturers and tutors. Students should also, he added, absorb the experience provided by former graduates of the business school.
